Adam Johnson admits kissing the alleged victim.
Junior prosecutor Daniel Thomas read a statement that Johnson had made for police. He said Johnson admitted to kissing the girl "fully on the lips" during a meeting in his car on January 30 last year.Orlando Pownall QC defending, asked Johnson: "You pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child and meeting a child following sexual grooming. Did you acceptkissing (the girl)?"Ad FeedbackThe footballer said: "Yes."Pownall continued: "Did you digitally interfere with her or indulge in oral sex with her?"The former England winger answered: "No,I never."He told the court he sent the girl messages while he was "bored" in the team's London hotel room ahead of their away match at Tottenham."I'm ashamed I did that. I knew I should not be doing that. It was because I was in my hotel room - I was bored."Johnson accepted the girl as a Facebook friend and exchanged telephone numbers as she had been asking for signed shirts. When Johnson was asked why he told the girl not to tell anyone she was messaging him, he said: "Loads of reasons - I had a girlfriend, I knew what could be made of speaking to a girl that age, I didn't want herto tell her friends and them to come and ask me for shirts as well."Of his second meeting with the girl, Johnson said he knew there was a"possibility" of sexual activity and it was something he wanted."That was stupidity from me and I really regret that."Johnson admitted to sending messages to other women, who were in their 20s, around the time his girlfriend gave birth in January last year to their daughter. When he was asked how those messages compared with those to the girl, Johnson said: "They were different. They were a lot more explicit."He regretted those too."I wasn't being a good person to my girlfriend or my daughter. I was talking to people I shouldn't have," Johnson told the jury.Johnson has been sacked by Sunderland. The trial continues.
