Done deal: Chelsea announce Alex Davey has joined Norwegian club

The 2016 Norwegian football season has just begun and Davey will give Staebek manager Billy McKinlay options both in defence and midfield, with theclubconfirming the deal on Tuesday afternoon.Davey is primarily a centre-back but he canplay in midfield as well and is well thought of at Chelsea, having spent time on loan in the Football League.This will be a taste of top flight football and it will be interesting to see how the youngster copes with the move abroad.Of course there are many Chelsea players out on loan, over 30 at the moment, so Davey will have to work hard to impress but reports are suggesting that the club’s potential new manager Antonio Conte will be told to bring through more youngsters.Davey has won the FA Youth Cup with Chelsea, one of a many number of players to do so, but many of the club’s successful youngsters have found first-team opportunities hard to come by in recent seasons.Fans will be hoping that Conte can address this issue should he be appointed.Davey could make his debut for the club on the weekend against Molde, who are managed by former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
