Turkish footballer Salih Dursun red carded

A footballer has been shown a red card for showing a red card as chaos broke out during a controversial match in the Turkishfirst division.Trabzonspor substitute Salih Dursun discovered one of the more novel ways to get yourself sent off in a match against Galatasaray on Monday (NZ time), becoming the fourth player in his team to be red carded in their 2-1 loss. The crazy scenes erupted in the 86th minute after referee Deniz Bitnel awarded Galatasaray a penalty and angry Trabzonspor defender Luis Cavanda ran into the match official, leading to the third sending off and reducing the visitors to eight players. With Bitnel dropping the red card as the animated protests continued, the equally frustrated Dursun pounced and picked up the card before raising it towards the referee and pointing in the direction of the sideline. That move quickly backfired, though, as Bitnel retrieved the red card and swiftly sent Dursun on his way, leaving Trabzonspor with just seven players on the field.Topping off a bad day for the visiting team,Selcuk Inan converted the penalty and Galatasaray comfortably held on for victory. The incident brought back memories of former England striker Paul Gascoigne holding up a yellow card to a referee while playing for Scottish side Rangers in 1995, with that official also returning the favour.
